What does sponsoring a puppy mean?

By being a sponsor, that means you are giving vital funds in helping care for pups until proper homes are found for them that they will thrive in. When you sponsor a dog or puppy, it makes a difference in helping out in providing pups that have yet to be placed, get the training and 1x1 attention that they require until they can be placed in appropriate forever homes with a veteran in need.

How does sponsoring a dog work?

Service dog sponsorships are instrumental in covering the costs associated with teaching, boarding, lifetime medical care, and placement of a service dog with an individual who has a physical / psychological disability, or other special need.

-
You can be the driving force behind a veteran’s life-changing road to recovery. The initial cost for a puppy chosen to become a Service Dog is around $2,500. Plus the cost to train and place a Service Dog, beyond basic obedience and what training the breeder provides, is approximately $25,000 or more depending on which program they go to for continued training. Your generous sponsorship will provide every advantage to a veteran in obtaining a professionally trained Service Dog to help them mitigate their disabilities.

Currently there are two virtual programs that we have partnered with in providing training for both veteran and their service dog prospect. These programs are Sam Ivy K9 Consultants, and BAXTER & Bella the Online Puppy School. We are still looking for a suitable program willing to accept an Australian Shepherd or American Foxhound into their school as a Board & Train option for those that do not feel able to train their dogs themselves even with online aid. if you know of any programs that mainly focus around veterans that would accept an Australian Shepherd or American Foxhound into their program, it would be greatly appreciated to be informed so that we may reach out to them asap.
